  • Public policy analysis mainly covering PRSPs, MDGs, and European integration.

  • Supporting the work of Parliament in better understanding and analyzing the budget, by providing training and publications.

  • Public expenditure tracking surveys to improve public finance legislation.

  • Reviewing the Albanian public finance legislation in light of good practices of international organizations such as the OECD, IMF, and EU, and providing recommendations.
  • Facilitate dialogue between public institutions and private sector.

  • Provide budget information and analysis to the media.

  • Working with civil society in increasing their participatory level in public policies and budget debates.

  • Sharing experiences of budget work with other countries in South Eastern European Countries.

  • Increasing transparency of public funding by providing publications, such as A Citizens Guide to the Budget.

Major Current Activities
  • Undertaking public expenditure survey for education with the Ministry of Education and World Bank.

  • Studying the efficiency of private health services.

  • Preparation of a manual for training of trainers on the budget with UNDP.

  • Training on participatory budget to representatives of civil society, media, local government throughout the country.Have already undertaken training in 14 cities throughout Albania, and have trained 300 representatives of the above- mentioned groups.

  • Strengthening partnership of public institutions with private sector representatives on revenue forecasting issues.

  • Organized four round tables on the fiscal package for 2005.

  • Prepared a detailed review of Fiscal Package 2005, providing recommendations to Parliament and the Ministry of Finance.
  • Currently writing several articles on fiscal policies and transparency of public funding, amongst other topics.
