Conservation Online — Public library, created and maintained by The Nature Conservancy in partnership with other conservation organizations. The library makes conservation tools, techniques, and experience available to a broad community of conservation practitioners. This site is intended to foster learning and collaboration, and provide information and support to anyone making conservation-related decisions, from the staff of conservation organizations to land managers at government agencies to local land trusts to private landowners.

World Resources Institute — In depth reports and statistics about a variety of global environmental issues. Includes the "World Resources 1998-1999" report.

Environmental Datasets — From the Eldis web site, this is an extensive listing of environmental data available on the web.

"Environment Matters" — The World Bank's new triannual environmental magazine (summer, fall and winter). Feature stories and regular themes like biodiversity, water resource management, pollution management, new indicators of progress, climate change and ozone, partnerships and others. Links to significant environmental resources at the Bank.

Environmental Economics and Indicators — International data, charts, and graphs, including information on environmental indicators ("green accounting" information, real saving, land quality, etc.).

The Environment Department at the World Bank — Some links and a few papers online.

Envirolink — Excellent, comprehensive guide to web resources pertaining to environmental issues.

World Bank Pollution Issues page — Substantive page with pollution data for many countries, numerous reports, working papers, and other resources.

European Environment Agency — Excellent site covering European environmental policy issues.  Includes environmental data for European nations and numerous reports and information on diverse issues such as environmental taxes, the European Union and the environment, climate change, and specific pollution topics.  Many reports are provided in all major European languages, though English is the primary language of the site.

Transboundary Environmental Information Agency (Baltic states, Finland, and Russia) — Environmental resource page covering the transboundary region of the Baltic states, Finland, and northwestern Russia. Site includes Transboundary and Environmental News, which provides newly available information on economic, environmental, and social problems of the region (in English and Russian).

Ecoline (Russian resource) — information sources on environment and third sector development in Russia and Former Soviet Union (some English, mostly Russian).
