An-Najah National University Based in West Bank/Palestine, the university carries out public finance research through its Public Administration Institute. Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) This site includes research and advocacy materials to increase civil participation in the budget process promoting a pro-poor and pro-environment focus. Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC) Papers, links, and other resources related to defense conversion, demobilization and reintegration of defense personnel, and other defense budget issues. Center for the Implementation of Public Policies promoting Equity and Growth (CIPPEC) (in English and Spanish) CIPPEC is based in Argentina and through its website the Center disseminates information and papers on health care, education, and fiscal policy and public state reform. The site also includes an electronic subcription to the Center's monthly newsletter. Spanish) CIDE is a Mexican academic and policy institution whose research topics

Center at the Pacific University) (in Spanish) This Peruvian research center emphasizes economic and administration issues. The site includes information on natural resources and environment, international trade, social policies, economic policy, economics of regulation and business administration. Centro de
Assessoria e Estudos Urbanos (CIDADE) (Urban Studies and Advice Center) (in Portuguese) CIDADE's site highlights the participatory
budgeting project in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where it is based. It also offers
materials on municipal and local budgeting. Departamento de
Economia, Universidad de Santiago de Chile (in Spanish) This site includes
economic data and information for the Chilean economy, as well as international economic
comparisons. Education Policy Unit The Unit was established as a joint project of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and the National Education Co-ordinating Committee (NECC) in South Africa. The site describes the Unit's research, projects, and staff. Fundar, Center for Analysis and Research (in Spanish) Based in Mexico city, Fundar has recently updated its website. It now offers information on their research projects and publications, including the "Latin American Budget Transparency Index", and other important papers on pro-poor and gender budget analysis. Gdansk Institute for Market Economics (Poland) The Institute formulates concrete policies for the nations economic, social and political transformation; popularises and disseminates these policies to both political elites and the public at large; and monitors and analyses the transformation of the polity as it unfolds Human Rights Commission This site contains a variety of policy documents, reports, and publications related to human rigths issues in South Africa. It also offers a newsroom for updates on the Commission's activities and links to national and international human rights organizations. Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) Based in Ghana, ISODEC has several programmes to empower sustainable human development looking at human rights and national economic policy issues. ISODEC's website features details on these programmes and other outreach activities including budget advocacy initiatives organized by its Center for Budget Advocacy. Integrity Integrity's website offers general information on its programmes and profile. Instituto Brasileiro de Analises Sociais e Económicas (IBASE) Brazilian Institute for Social and Economic Analysis (in Portuguese) IBASE's work covers issues related to gender, the environment, budget transparency, and civil participation. The site highlights links and publications to these areas, and to the different initiatives undertaken to increase the level of democracy in the budget process including the Popular Budget Forum. Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA) Non-government institute in South Africa which focuses on a number of issues, including budget priorities, defense expenditures, local government, and monitoring of political information. A considerable number of its reports are available online. Institute for Popular Democracy Based in Philippines, the IPD site offers an effective search engine with more 30 budget-related documents. Institute for Urban Economics Based in Russia. The Institute works with municipal and regional budgets. The site includes a list of publications and completed projects. Institute of Public Finance (in English and Croatian) Budget publications including "A Citizen's Guide to the Budget", an electronic newsletter, library, and links to fiscal policy projects since 1996 relevant to the Republic of Croatia. Kenya Institute for Public Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) The Institute's website offers pdf and word documents on diverse fiscal policy issues and links to funding institutions. It also illustrates KIPPRA's mission to conduct policy research in Kenya. Lebanese Center for Policy Studies Research institute based in Beirut that studies issues related to democracy and governance, civil society, economic policy, international relations, education, and the environment. Some publications available online. Poder Ciudadano (Citizen Power) (in Spanish) Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Poder Ciudadano leads serveral projects, including one on participatory budgeting to implement a law that will formalize civil participation in the budget process. All activities and initiatives can be found on their website. PÓLIS - Instituto de Estudos, Formaçao e Public Administration Research Center (PARC) Based in Egypt PARC was established in 1995 as an academic research within the Cairo University to provide research, consultation and training services in the field of public administration and contributing towards enhancing the performance of public and local administration. The Center's website offers information on related studies, lectures, and training and research programs. Public Affairs Center Based in Bangalore, India, the Public Affairs Center aims to improve the quality of governance and public management in India through research and partnerships with government agencies and other citizen groups. Site includes update on recent research findings and activities.St. Petersburg Center of Humanities and Political Studies "Strategy" (in Russian) Budget reports with defense and security focus, mainly addressed to Russian legislators. Strtategy has a program "City residents and authorities setting the course for cooperation. A budget people can understand and influence". The program is in its third phase and works to develop the participation of non-governmental organizations and to improve budget transparency in the budgets of St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Velikie Luki, Pskov, Samara, Novosibirsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and other Russian regions. Social Development Network (SODNET) SODNET is a forum for member and interested organizations to exchange ideas, information, and resources that complement the public sector efforts geared towards the improvement of living standards in Kenya. South Africa National NGO Coalition (SANGOCO) This website contains press releases and updates on different campaigns to erradicate poverty, including a People's Budget Campaign.
