Tax Analysis from the Congressional Budget Office Though the papers at this site focus on the US experience, they provide good analyses of such issues as income vs. consumption taxes and the taxation of capital gains. Tax Analysts Page Though this page primarily focuses on the US, their "Readings in Tax Policy" section contains many reports that would be valuable to international organizations. Section and report titles include "International Taxation", "Tax Burden Comparison: US vs. the rest of the G7," "Alternative Taxation Schemes," and "The Congress and the Budget Process." HM Treasury (United Kingdom) Contains many papers on tax reform issues. Though specific to Britain, many analyses will be of general interest. Institute for Fiscal Studies Based in Britain, the IFS researches fiscal policy issues. The web site includes online papers on a variety of topics, including local governance, taxation,and education and training. New Challenges of Tax Compliance: Japan's Experience and its Significance for Latin America Contains the agenda and presentations given at this conference organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Japan Center for International Finance (JCIF) held on June 11-12, 2002.
